Fun Sunny Day Activity

This past week we had a wonderful group come down from the Chicago area. They brought with them so much love for the kids, great ideas for projects and WATER BALLOONS!!!! I think that some of the kids had never played with water balloons before and we all had so much fun. We started off the activity with a water balloon toss to see who could toss the balloon the farthest without it breaking. After two round of that, we teachers had lots of fun throwing the remaining water balloons at the kids. :-) What a great activity! We will definitely have to do this again during the summer.

my new niece

This last month I took a quick trip back to California to meet my new niece, Tabitha Lou. It was such a fun trip and I had a wonderful time with my sister and her growing family. I just love being an auntie!!

My sister also threw me a bridal shower which was so special to get to celebrate with a few special friends. Here is a pic of my mom, sister,new baby and me at the shower:

Happy Birthday to Yocaira, age 5, and Jomarlin, age 7!!!!

Balloon Animals

A few weeks ago the sister of one of our staff members was here to visit. She came to the school and made balloon animals for the kids. She was so amazing at it and the kids had so much fun choosing their animal and watching her make them.

She even made me one: lovebirds!!

New Blankets!

A group that came down last year sent down a donation of new nap blankets for the school. We are all so thankful for these beautiful, soft, new blankets.

January and February Birthdays

This week we celebrated January and February birthdays. Shown in the picture are Jose Agustin, who turned 5 in January, and Camilo who turned 6 this month.

We're engaged! Date is set for April 30, 2011.

Please pray for Cristian and I as we embark on this adventure. Pray for God's leading and presence as we plan the wedding, that it would be enjoyable and free of stress. Pray also as we begin looking for a place to live that we could find something adequate and affordable, or as the Dominicans say, something with the 3 Bs: bueno, bonito, barrato (good, pretty, cheap). :-)
